How it works
Lower the bucket on the linkage and fill it reversing, then raise it to carry. To empty it, release the catch with the lever or trip cord and the bucket tips; once it's back in position it locks again.
Manual or hydraulic tip
Manual tip costs less, needs no hydraulic outlets and has fewer parts to look after. Hydraulic tip is worked from the seat and is handier if you tip often or carry heavy material.
Which width?
A bucket slightly wider than your rear track covers the wheel marks when levelling. The wider it is, the more it carries, but it also needs more horsepower.
Frequently asked questions
Can I dig with it?
In loose soil, turf, gravel and snow, yes. On hard ground the bucket tends to bounce: you'll need a heavy tractor, ballast and four-wheel drive.
Does it need the tractor's hydraulics?
No, tipping is manual. You only need the linkage to raise and lower it.
What horsepower do I need?
It's shown on every listing. As a rule, the smaller buckets suit compact tractors.
Is it any good for snow?
Yes, a rear bucket pushes and scoops snow and is handy for clearing yards and drives.
